Embarking on a 7-day backpacking journey to Himachal from Delhi, we have meticulously selected some of the region's finest destinations for you to explore. This week-long expedition covers the most sought-after attractions that captivate both tourists and adventure seekers alike. The journey smoothly merges popular landmarks with private retreats, from the renowned hill station of Manali, frequently referred to as Lover's Paradise, to the picturesque town of Kasol tucked in the Kullu valley.
Manali's charm lies in its breathtaking vistas, temperate climate, and a plethora of lively activities. The itinerary includes visits to Hadimba Temple, Vashisht Temple, Mall Road, and a delightful round of café hopping in Old Manali, providing a glimpse into the township's vibrant life. Our next destination, Solang Valley, is a haven for adventure enthusiasts, offering thrilling activities such as paragliding, trekking, mountaineering, ATV rides, ziplining, and skiing during the appropriate season—making it a must-visit for adrenaline junkies.
After the adrenaline rush, the quiet hamlet of Kasol, renowned for its spiritual encounters, beckons. A visit to the Manikaran temple, which is located next to the Parvati River and has boiling, severely cold springs on both sides. Sikh and Hindu pilgrims alike flock to the nearby Gurudwara Manikaran Sahib on a yearly basis. Our next destination, Jibhi, is an undiscovered treasure in Himachal that has managed to escape modernization, retaining its verdant slopes, beautiful waterfalls, and freshwater lakes. It's the perfect spot for introspection or to spend precious time with a significant other.
Seeing the magnificent vista from the top will make any trip to Himachal incomplete. To satiate this craving, exciting and accessible hikes are arranged to Jalori Pass and Sirosar Lake. This well-planned backpacking tour through Manali satisfies all of your needs while providing an insight into the rich history and culture of the "Land of Gods," Himachali. Itinerary
Day 0: Journey from Delhi to Manali (530 Kilometers, 13 Hours)
- The group gathers at the designated pick-up point by 7 PM.
- Team captains will be introduced, and a brief tour session will be conducted.
- We embark on an overnight drive to Manali.
Note: The pick-up point is Majnu Ka Tila Bus Stand.
Day 1: Exploring Manali | Local Attractions
- Embark on a day of local exploration in Manali, starting with a visit to the ancient Hadimba Temple, a cave temple with a rich history dating back 500 years.
- Later, stroll through the vibrant Manali Mall Road, immersing yourself in the local atmosphere. Indulge in cafe hopping in the charming lanes of Old Manali.
- Conclude the day with a delightful dinner and enjoy a comfortable overnight stay in Manali.
Day 2: Exploring Solang Valley from Manali (13 Kilometers, 1 hour)
- After an early morning breakfast, our journey takes us to the exhilarating Solang Valley, a haven for adventure enthusiasts.
- Upon reaching Solang Valley, travelers have the opportunity to engage in thrilling activities such as Zipline and Rocket Bungee (included in the package). Additionally, there are other exciting options available at personal expense, including Zorbing, Skiing, ATV rides, and more.
- As part of our adventure, we will traverse the renowned Atal Tunnel and make a stop at the picturesque Sissu, nestled in the Lahaul Valley. After soaking in the excitement and natural beauty, we'll return to Manali.
- The day concludes with a delicious dinner, followed by an overnight stay in Manali.
Day 3: Journey from Manali to Kasol (75 Kilometers, 2 Hours) | Exploring Kasol
- After enjoying an early morning breakfast, we'll complete the check-out process at our current hotel and set off for Kasol, a charming hamlet nestled in the Kullu district of Himachal Pradesh. Kasol is renowned for its unspoiled river streams and verdant forests.
- Upon reaching Kasol, we'll check in to our designated hotel. In the evening, our itinerary includes a visit to the Manikaran Temple and Manikaran Gurudwara. Additionally, we'll explore the revered Hot Water Springs in Manikaran, considered sacred by the local community.
- The remainder of the day will be dedicated to cafe hopping and immersing ourselves in the vibrant local market. A delightful dinner awaits us, followed by a comfortable overnight stay in Kasol.
Day 4: From Kasol to Tirthan (83 Kilometers, 3 Hours) | Exploring Jibhi's Charm
- We will bid farewell to our hotel and embark on a scenic hike towards Chalal, a charming village boasting panoramic views of the Parvati Valley.
- Subsequently, we'll journey to the enchanting hamlet of Jibhi, nestled amidst verdant forests in the Tirthan Valley of Himachal Pradesh. Along the way, we'll make a stop at Jhiri, a picturesque village near Kasol, and partake in an exhilarating River Rafting session before continuing our journey to Jibhi.
- Upon our evening arrival in Jibhi, we will check into our accommodation. Later, we'll venture out for a delightful sightseeing experience, including a visit to the glistening Jibhi Waterfall, exploration of the local market, and a bit of Cafe Hopping.
- A delectable dinner awaits us in the evening, followed by an overnight stay in the serene surroundings of Jibhi.
Day 5: Journey to Jalori Pass and Hike to Serolsar Lake (9 Kilometers, 5 Hours)
- We will complete the check-out process from our accommodations and embark on a drive to Jalori Pass. This scenic route promises a 360º panorama, providing breathtaking views of the entire valley and the Pir Panjal ranges of the Himalayas.
- Upon crossing Jalori Pass, we will engage in a trek to the unspoiled Serolsar Lake, a high-altitude gem surrounded by alpine forests. Adjacent to the lake, a temple of great significance to the locals awaits, offering an opportunity for paying respects.
- Subsequently, we will descend from the trek and make our way towards Bhuntar/Aut, where we'll board an overnight bus destined for Delhi.
Day 6: Arrival in Delhi | Conclusion of Tour
- Anticipated arrival in Delhi is scheduled for early morning at 9 AM.
- As we bid farewell, cherished memories from the journey will linger among the group.
- The tour concludes.
Note: Kindly arrange your return flight for this day after discussing with your Trip Coordinator.
