Description
Chitkul is a village in Kinnaur district of Himachal Pradesh. During winters, the place mostly remains covered with the snow and the inhabitants move to lower regions of Himachal.
According to a recent study by Centre of Atmospheric Sciences at IIT Delhi, Chitkul has the cleanest air in India.
Chitkul, a village located on right bank of Baspa River, is the last village of the Baspa Valley and the last village on the old Hindustan-Tibet trade route. It is also the last point in India one can travel to without a permit.
Itinerary
Day 0: Departure for Chitkul-Last village of India.
- Gather and report at Kashmiri gate and meet our Trip coordinator. Depart for Chitkul in the night.
- Overnight journey Delhi to Shimla.
Day 1: Reach Sarahan & visit Shri Bhima kali temple.
- Reach Shimla in the morning and transfer to Traveller and begin the scenic drive to Chitkul.
- Take a halt for freshen-up and breakfast.
- Visit the Bhima-Kali Temple in Sarahan and stop at the famous Kinnaur Gate, the gateway to Kinnaur district.
- and later continuing our journey to Chitkul
- Reach Chitkul by late evening and check-in to Hotel/Homestay,then relax for a sometime.
- Have Dinner and Overnight Stay.
Day 2: Chitkul Local Explore & Day Hike.
- We’ll start with our breakfast and move towards the ITBP camp.
- Sit and enjoy the beautiful view of the Baspa Valley from around the camp and a majestic view of the snow-clad mountains.
- Later take a relaxing riverside walk along the Baspa River and visit famous Aakhri Dhaba, popularly known as the '' LAST DHABA OF INDIA''.
- Later continuing the village exploration with a visit to the ancient Mathi Temple, dedicated to the Local deity Mathi Mata.
- Spend the rest of the day strolling through the village lanes,interacting with locals,exploring apple orchards(seasonal).
- Return to the hotel/homestay and have dinner.
- Overnight stay in Chitkul.
Day 3: Chikul to Kalpa.
- Post Breakfast, Checkout and begin your scenic drive to Kalpa.
- We will stop at Sangla on the way and continuing our journey towards reokong peo, the headquater of kinnaur district.
- From here you can explore market and witness spectacular views of the snow covered peaks of the kinner kailash Range.
- Next visit the famous Roghi Suicide Point,Located a few kilometers away from Kalpa Village.
- Explore Kalpa village and the temple.
- Later Check-in to Hotel and Relax
- Dinner will be served followed by an overnight stay in Kalpa.
Day 4: Kalpa to Shimla & Departure to Delhi.
- After breakfast, we will leave from Kalpa to Shimla.
- On the way, we will have a look at Kinner Kailash peaks.
- In the evening we will board for a bus to Delhi.
- Overnight bus journey from Shimla to Delhi.
- End of Tour.

A superb weekend with amazing guys. We covered Chitkul & Kalpa places as per itinerary, unfortunately we have missed to visit Bhima Kali temple, Although we have enjoyed the hiking instead. The captain (Rishabh) was so supportive. Hotel side & food was not so good. Felt like a family with others there, and was a awesome group.
